Snowflake Soiree Christmas Cards

Today I decided to spend a few hours in my craft room in an attempt to start my Christmas Card writing. I normally like to make a start at the beginning of November so I am all prepared and ready to mail out come the 1st of December. But alas with moving house last year I was left in a mad panic and I got to the middle of this November NOT fairing much better. Luckily I made a few cards a month throughout the year so I had some handmade cards plus extras for "Cards For The Troops" so at least things were too bad. Well today not only did I get almost ALL of my cards written out but about half of them are enveloped and addressed as well! I realised I was about 6 cards short on my homemade list so I quickly whipped up four cards using Stampin' Up's Snowflake Soiree stamp set. I choose Concorde Crush as my colour to work with then coupled it with some Wisteria Wonder Ink. I was so happy with how pretty these cards turned out to be and how quick they were to make.

Thanks for stopping by.

OMG I am sorry that I haven't been blogging much of late life has be very hectic and there seems to be so little spare time in my days. Christmas is fast approaching and this year I am SO not prepared! What about you ladies? Anyone feeling super organised?

Tonight I just wanted to share (at long last) my last sketch reveal for Let's Capture Our Memories. This fortnight I was asked to do a layout. OMG it felt like forever since I had actually completed a layout! I have been making Christmas Cards and trying to catch up with birthday & other occasion cards for what seems like forever now!

Good Morning, once again!

Sorry but on a bit of a roll today so updating and sharing whilst I have some time. Here is another quite but (I think) cute cherry blossom birthday card using the leftover materials from the previous card. Waste not want not as they say! Plus I love the pretty Stampin' Up designer paper and the pretty pink hues so much.

Until next time, thanks

Cherry Blossom Card

Here is a simple card I created yesterday using my new Cherry Blossom stamp from Kaszazz. I am so in love with it! So simple but I feel so effective. Can't wait to play around with it some more!

Have a great day.

Christmas time....

Hi Everyone

So sorry it has been so long between posts. Normally it is just my total slackness but this time around I do have some legitimate real life reasons that I won't go into on here. I haven't really been doing much creating over the past few weeks and have even had to put my DT work on hold over at Let's Capture Our Memories (be sure to stop by and check out all the amazing layouts, cards & challenges).

But now real life has settled down a bit and we are on school holidays I have been lucky enough to find a few hours here and there to get some creating happening once again. Today I wanted to share a few Christmas cards I made to add to my collection.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back soon as I have a layout from Let's Capture Our Memories to share very soon. Happy scrapping!

LCOM Sketch #24

Morning All

As my life seems to be in a perpetual state of running behind of late, it won't surprise you to hear that I am late again posting my latest creation for Let's Capture Our Memories. I got to use some new washi tape that I brought at The Scrapbooking and Papercraft Convention that recently rolled on through Perth. And I got to get a little messy with some paint too.

Please be sure to hop on over to the blog and check out all the great layout and card creations from my fellow Design Team members. Don't forget to leave them some feedback too!

Supplies: Black Bazzill Cardstock, Kaisercraft "Flutterby" Range (scraps), Washi Tape, Semco Silver Metallic & Magenta Bright paints, Ribbon, Molossi Pearl Bling, Heartfelt Creations Mini Floret Stamps & dies, Tim Holtz Distress Stickles, Tim Holtz Inks - Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs and Victorian Velvet and Thickers alphas.

Quick Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone

As part of my getting organised early pact with regards to Christmas Cards I realised yesterday that I haven't made any cards in what seems like months. I started out the beginning of the year thinking if I can make even a couple of cards each month then come October I should have all the cards I need in time for the start of the festive season.

Yesterday I didn't have a lot of time to spare and I certainly didn't have a lot of motivation so I decided to make some quick and easy, simple cards.

Here is what I came up with:

Hope you are all having a great day and have some time to get crafting!

LCOM Sketch #20

Hello All

With the hustle and bustle of this weekend now out of the way I thought I best remember to check if it was time to post my latest Let's Capture Our Memories project and guess what? IT IS!

So before time can escape me and I manage to once again forget to post it I thought I would do so now. This time around I was lucky enough to get asked to do a scrapbooking layout! I have been doing cards of late and it feels like it has been SO long since I created a layout that I was just a tad excited, especially after I saw the gorgeous sketch we had to work with.

Please be sure to head on over to the LCOM blog and check out not only my fellow talented DT members creations but also the great entries we get each week.

Have a great start to the week!

Nicayla's Birthday Card

Just a quick share tonight. It was my daughters 12th birthday over the weekend and of course I had to make a pretty card for her so wanted to share it with you all.

I only had a couple of hours on Thursday night (thank goodness the weather turned wet so soccer training was cancelled!) to whip something one so this year it is only a basic easel card.

Hope you all had a great weekend and found the time to sit and relax.

Monday, May 13, 2013

I can't believe how busy my life seems to have gotten of late and how slack I am with updating my blog. I have realised yet again that I have forgotten to post my last Let's Capture Our Memories card YET AGAIN! So sorry everyone. I swear it is not intentional and I just don't know where the time goes!

So here it is.... I actually really love this card:

Hope everyone is having a great week and getting lots of opportunities to scrap or make cards. Can't wait to see what you have all been up to!

Over at Let's Capture Our Memories April was choosen as our card month as we have had a challenge related to cards go up each week. Please be sure you head over and check out all the challenges if for no other reason, for some great inspiration! I decided to do a card based on Challenge #3 which was sketch based and this is what I came up with! Must say this card I totally LOVE! LCOM Sketch #15

OMG people I am such a "slack" blogger. I have totally forgotten to post my last sketch challenge from Let's Capture Our Memories again! So here it is. This week I was choosen to do a card from the sketch and this is what I came up with. Jury is out as I am not sure that I really like it! lols How many times do we do that to ourselves but? Complete a project and then not be truly happy with it? I am so bad for it!! What about you? Do you do the same thing? Do you leave the project as is or do you ripped it apart and start again? Until next time which won't be as long I hope. Have a great day and happy crafting! Hugs Shirl

And tonight some STIPPLED BLOSSOMS!

Good Evening Tonight I have another two cards to share with you all. Again I cannot claim responsibility for their original designs a they both were a result of some **casing** or scraplifting. Both cards are also made using my newest Stampin' Up stamp set "Stippled Blossoms". When I first saw these stamps I was no where near close to wanting to buy them but once I started to look at some of the drop dead gorgeous cards that were being made with them I just had to have them! The first card I have to share tonight has been cased from the gorgeous work of Sandy Manthis. Be sure to head over to Sandy's page to check out her other wonderous creations! And my other card was inspired by the works of Annette Sullivan. Annette's card had a beautiful embossed background but sadly I don't have any of the larger embossing folders SO I decided to try something different. I am not sure I am in LOVE with this card but I do like it. I think maybe it needs a little something but I am not sure what? Perhaps just a little distressing around the old page? Thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy scrapping or card making! Hugs Shirl

I love how with Stampin' Up everything is so easy as their products are all colour co ordinated for me! Products used this week : Stampin' Up Sycamore Street DSP, Whimsical Words Stamp Set, Buttons, Butterfly embosslits, kindy glitz Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over and check out all the other gorgeous cards and layouts from the very talented ladies at LCOM. Summer Silhouette Stamp Set

Hello Everyone Just a little share tonight firstly of a card that I cased from the very talented Diane Barnes using the Summer Silhouette stamp set from Stampin' Up. I saw Diane's card when I was surfing the net a few weeks ago and I knew straight away I just had to make it! Mine is no where near as lovely as hers but I was still very happy with how it turned out. I added a few little Shirl touches but it is pretty much a direct CASE of Diane's card. I made this one to send to my Aunty Viv who is turning 90 years young in early April.

Gimme All Your Lovin' Crop

Hi Everyone I just wanted to quickly share some of my projects that have resulted from the great challenges our TALENTED DT girls came up with for our Crop last weekend over at Let's Capture Our Memories site. It was a fantastic cyber crop and you should definitely be sure to check out the gallery! It is chock full of some gorgeous layouts and cards. Here to start things off are a layout and card I created. The layout was for the "No Pink" challenge. The idea was to create a layout using no pink, no red and to have no lovehearts on it. The card was created for the Bingo Card Challenge. You had to choose a line on the bingo card of elements to be included on either a card or a layout. For the card I had to include cardstock, inking, metal accent, bling and a circle. And lastly the DLO was created for the Too Pink Challenge. Use at least two different shades of pink.
Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for some more creations to come! Hugs Shirl

Male Cards

Happy Saturday Everyone
Two new but very basic cards I made this afternoon for a couple of upcoming *male* birthday cards. Both the recipients are not all that into handmade cards so I wanted something simple but nice. Not sure there is too much inspiration here for anyone but I wanted to share non the less. Wet, windy and getting just a tad wild here so tomorrow should be another great day to perhaps spend some time in my craft room... well I hope! With back to school on Tuesday coming up quick I might have to dedicate some time to actually organising the last of the kids books! Have a great evening everyone. Hugs Shirl

LCOM Sketch #3

Good Afternoon All Well it is that time again already! I have been so slack blogging already this year! I really need to get my act together! I am so loving our new approach on Let's Capture Our Memories with one sketch being used to create both cards and layouts! It does show you just how versatile a sketch can be. So often we see a sketch and it is labeled card or layout and so we only think of it in that light. Please be sure you head on over to LCOM's blog to check out all the very talented ladies creations this week.
Products used- Bazzill cardstock - brown and white, Martha Stewart punch, polka dot embossing folder, brown ribbon, kaiser bling, Stampin' Up Polka Dot Parade DSP, Punch Bunch Owl Stamp, Betsy Blossoms leaf stamp, Old Olive ink pad and Old Olive cardstock. Hugs Shirl

LCOM Sketch 1

Hi Everyone Well after what seems a really long break we are back at Let's Capture Our Memories with a fresh start to a whole new year. To show you just how versatile sketches can be we are kicking off the new year by using one sketch (be it a card sketch or layout sketch) and all creating something different. So each week when you stop with your cup of coffee to check out LCOM's blog you will see a range of cards, 12x12 layouts, 8.5x11.5 layouts and some Off the Page projects as well. All created from one sketch! This week I have created a card from the sketch (which was originally a layout sketch)that I'd love to share with you all:
So please make sure you head over to LCOM to welcome the new DT ladies and check out this week's amazing creations. Have a scrappy day! Hugs Shirl
