Evening Friends

Well it has been a bit quiet in my household of late when it comes to craftiness. With the kids home on school holidays there just hasn't been much time to sit, relax and create! I have managed but this week (school went back on Monday - YIPEE!!!!) to make several cards and finish off a layout as well.

But tonight I wanted to share with you all my card creation for this week's Twisted Sketches Card Challenge. This weeks twist was "Old". Now I can't blame you for looking and thinking "old" what's old about this card. Well I took the challenge quite literally and didn't use anything new... if it wasn't in my stash or it was recently purchased it was out of bounds.

Evening Everyone

Well I am running a little behind with the kids being home from school but I wanted to take 5 mins to catch up and post my very first Twisted Sketches card sketch challenge for 2012! This week's twist was so up my alley "SPARKLE". I so love sparkle in any shape or form. Thanks Anam for another great challenge! Twisted Sketches

Well after a chaotic Christmas & indeed so far a Happy New Year I am finally back! After what seems like an eternity (and what has indeed been a good couple of months) I finally sat down yesterday to scrapbook for the first time I think since perhaps my October Scrapbooking Retreat. I managed to get two layouts done, as well as adding the finishing touches to two more layouts. I got out three new albums to set up for my Bon Jovi concerts from 2010 and then one for when Caz & Julz came to visit around the same time and lastly for my whirlwind visit to Tassie in March 2012. So I am a very happy scrapper indeed.

But this post is to share with you all a link to the Twisted Sketches site so you can check out some favourites from myself and fellow Twisted Sketches Sisters from 2011. My work is on display here but please be sure to check out the other three associated posts from the lovely Anam so you don't miss out on the highlights from all the girls.

Teachers Cards

It was a rather rushed effort this year to get the teachers presents and cards done. I made up gift baskets of assorted christmas foods such as white christmas, rum & raisin balls, apricot balls & caramel ginger tartlets to name a few. Christmas Card Time Again....

Seriously where do the years go each year? Life seems to get busier and busier and no sooner do we pack up the Christmas tree than we seem to be unpacking it again. Since I am up early trying to enjoy some QUIET time I thought I would share a few of my favourite cards from this years efforts! As some of you will know when it comes to my christmas cards I tend to keep them fairly simple as I always seem to end up making so many of them. This year I stopped just short of 30 handmade cards. All of them different.... no two the same! I can't help myself! There is certainly nothing wrong with creating all your cards the same but I just don't seem to be able to do that! Twisted Sketches #88 - JOY

Well friends this is officially my last Twisted Sketches card for my term. I have had a ball creating for the lovely Anam and working alongside all the other uber talented ladies on my DT! Thank you so much girls for the support & kind words on my blog! You never cease to inspire me each week with your creations.

Our final card had the twist of the word "JOY". I think being so close to Christmas a few of us went the obvious way of a festive theme... me included. But, of course, I just had to go the purple twist all the way.

Christmas Cards

Thought since I have been so slack of late it was time to start playing some catch up. Had a lovely evening out with two of my cherubs as we headed down to the big shopping centre just down the road to get a little festive. Carolling, Santa & of course spectacular fireworks to end the evening. The rain mostly stayed away til after the fireworks (which was good as it was mostly an outdoors event) and then we grabbed some takeaway before heading home.

Had to take some photo's of my latest card creations and wanted to share a couple before I dive into bed.

These two cards, celebrating christmas, I made on Tuesday when I went up to my niece's home town of Woodford to partake in her second Stampin Up Card Class. Aren't they both simply stunning cards?

Good Afternoon

Well here I am again shameless late.... I think the silly season has arrived early and with a vengeance in this house anyway. I have been busily trying to fit in exercise, keeping up with the kids & all their activities, not to mention trying to get all my christmas cards made & written out plus teachers cards & handmade gifts. Then several days have been tied up with creating a little masterpiece for my nephew & niece in law who had their very first baby on Friday night!

Good Morning

Well after a slack day yesterday I guess I best post a few new layout today! So here we go!! The first layout is called Mini Me and is my beautiful dd wearing my wedding dress. I think she will outgrow it long before she gets the chance to wear it! But more and more people keep telling me she looks just like me!

This next layout is called a Moment In Time and is all about my wild, wacky & comedian middle ds. He is certainly never dull! Love you crazy kid! Don't change!

Lastly this one is simply called "OUCH". No more explanation needed. Poor Jordie coped something hard to the face last holidays and as a result had a tooth knocked out & his handsome face somewhat cut & bruised! And to think friends this was taken after we went to the Dr's a good half an hour later! He did look A LOT worse!

A Wonderful Moment In Time........

Well I have never had such hassles with uploading photo's until yesterday! In the end I totally abandoned the layout I was trying to upload and posted the one you can see of my middle son Jordie instead. So since I have only just managed to get that one uploaded I thought I best upload another one for today! This one has a very special meaning to me as it was the day that I got to meet up with my cyber sis Caz and bestie Julz from Tasmania! Well I know I said I'd only post a layout a day but with a huge bundle of Christmas cards waiting to be uploaded as well as another 2-4 layouts that I have done since coming back from retreat I thought maybe I should post another layout before bed tonight! So here it is...... FASHIONISTA! This is perhaps one of my favourite layouts from the retreat weekend. I can't say my absolute fave but definitely right up there as a close number 1. Morning Friends

Well aside from it being another day, another layout I don't have too much to share! I am trying to be good again and get back in shape! After a round of arguments with the kids I decided that a morning walk was needed. So off I went for a 35 mins walk around the estate I live in. It was very invigorating to say the least!! With not much else, apart from housework, on the cards today I think I can see some time being spent at my craft desk. Evening FriendsAs promised another layout from retreat! Been one of those days so I am bit late posting. We rushed down town for an 8am dentist appointment this morning only to find out that it had been cancelled (just as we arrived) as the dentist wasn't well! OMG waiting now on it being rescheduled! Then I had to pick up Niccy early to take her to the Dr's again. She only has an ear infection in one ear now so slowly we are improving! At long last - three weeks in and three separate lots of antibiotics! Not good. I did however managed to get another layout completed as well today thanks to the sparky finally coming to replace the damaged light fitting over my craft desk. The lovely man installed a new ring flouro and WOW at the beautiful crystal clear light I now have! I can wait to go and do some more crafting. But first.... another layout for you all to view! Well I did say only one layout a day but I am sitting her watching my beloved Formula One, trying to be good and not yell encouragement at the big screen plasma in front of me (the kids keep telling me "Mum Jenson can't year you, you know?!?!") so I thought why not post another layout tonight. Once I get the kids off to bed I am going back to my craft desk - I managed to repair my big flouro desk lamp this afternoon to put the finishing touches on another layout. That will be two completed today! I am cheating but my friends and using the kits I put together for retreat! I think I must still have another 8 or so to do! Then I think I might when I have a little spare time here and there put together kits... really does work so well for later on! But enough talking here is the second of my layouts from retreat! This layout is of my dd Nicaya with her friend Kim & her coach Cassie at their recent rewards party at their gymnastics centre AGDA (Australasian Gymnastics and Dance Academy). Noosa North Shore Retreat

Well my friends after the busiest of three weeks I am finally back..... and sooooo looking forward to a less rushed lifestyle for a few weeks at least! I can't believe my eldest will be out of school shortly for the year! Where has it gone? Well as you all know two weekends ago I was fortunate enough to go on my very first ever scrapbooking retreat with my good friend Susan and my gorgeous niece Trish. I think it is safe to say we all had a ball and a big thank you has to go to the lovely Ann from

Queensland Scrapbooking Retreats for organising a fantastic fun filled weekend! I can't wait to go again next year! Wish I could say I can attend them all but sadly I think one a year might be it for me! But I am thinking now I have done a scrapbooking retreat I would love to do a Stamp Camp as well!But enough talking.... here is the first of the layouts I managed to get done over the weekend. I think I ended up with 16 in total! And I have another 10 kits here ready to scrap! So many layouts so little time! This one is titled "Brothers In Arms". Jordie and his best mate when they got their year 7 badges at the end of last year! Card & A Half Sketch Challenge

Evening LadiesBefore I head off to bed I thought I would share another little something with you all. I was out of town this weekend just past and sadly missed my great nephew's first birthday! So once I got back on Sunday my number one priority was to try and get a nice card made on Monday before I caught up with my niece Trish and little Aiden on Tuesday morning. Lacking inspiration it was fate that when I checked my mail I had a notification from my gorgeous friend Helen Jolly's blog "Card & A Half". The sketch was all the inspiration I needed to create the following card. Hi Girls So sorry I have been awol for so long. It has been a total MAD HOUSE around here of late. I have been away to my very first ever Scrapbooking Retreat, then my middle son Jordie has been on Year 7 camp and the very day after he got back we all left for Gladstone (nearly 6 hours drive away) for Nicayla's first away competition and also for her first Level 4 competition! Just wanted to catch up today but at least posting a couple of my Twisted Sketches cards that I am behind on. Beautiful Bree's Birthday Card

I made this card a couple of weeks back to give to my gorgeous Great Niece Bree for her birthday. I have been somewhat stuck on Twisted Easel cards of late. I love how stylish they look and how simple they are to create. I also loved using my new MS punch and my Cheery Lynn Design Doily die..... am so loving these dies at the moment. Just hanging out for the small exotic butterflies to come into stock. Have been doing prep work for layouts to take to my first ever retreat that is coming up in three weeks and I have notice there is lots of room on my sketches for doilies, punches and butterflies - too funny lols. Stampin Up Card Class

I was lucky enough yesterday to go up to nearby Woodford (where my gorgeous niece Trish lives) to be part of her very first card class as a Stampin Up Demonstrator! Cards for the Boys

Well after being so sick for so long I was delighted to get to sit down a few days ago and make some cards. The thank you card is going to Jordie's gym instructor who has been giving the boys a good work out to do each week during the soccer season (today will be our final day) and the other is just for the card box. I am not in love with that one but was dying to try out my lastest nestie die again!

Scrapping At Long Last!

Hi Ladies

OMG it feels like FOREVER since I have had the time to sit down and do some scrapbooking. All my friends have been posting about how many layouts they have done and all of a sudden WALLAH.... a free afternoon and I was scrapping away. I managed to get three (3) single layouts done that I wanted to share with you all tonight!

They consist of a scenic layout from my visit to New Norfolk, Tasmania, one of my gorgeous great nephew at 5 months proudly showing off how he can sit up! and lastly one of myself, Julz & Caz (who live in New Norfolk) when they came up to see Bon Jovi with me at Suncorp Stadium!

Kids are back at school tomorrow so I am really hoping to get another layout or two done this week. Mind you I have some cards to think about making as well so WHO KNOWS which I will end up doing!

Pretty In Pink

Here are a couple of new cards I have created this week. Got a feel for something new so I made an envelope card and then a swing card. I haven't made one of these for probably at least a couple of years so it was nice to do something different. So happy to share with you all my very first sketch for Twisted Sketches

For this project I used mainly leftover products, so I have to apologise to you ladies as I can't tell you the name/brand of the pretty patterned papers I have used. Other products used but included - bazzill cardstock, white doily, prima flowers, blue ribbon, pearls & kindy glitz. Stamped image is from Magnolia - Tilda coloured using copic ciao pens.

Exciting News

Ok ladies... well I am just home from a trip up north for a soccer match where Jordie and four of our other boys played up for the U13 Div 2 boys and then a home game for his own side the U12 Div 1 boys. Sadly they lost both games BUT omg they played so well. Will post some pics later but we just all got our training jerseys (arranged by one of our parents) Gosh our boys are surely one handsome bunch now!

Anyways I was so excited to see almost first thing on a FB page the announcement of the Design Team that I was recently lucky enough to be chosen for! So without further adieu I want to say a HUGE thank you to the gorgeous Anam firstly for choosing me and secondly a big congrats to my fellow Card DT members Anita Mulcahey, Brianna Carter, Jamie Long, Kendra Sheehan, Sue Jones and Teresila Freddi (Card Design Team A), Betty Schaub, Elena Bianconi, Jessica Wrightington, Linda Hoffman, Michelle Johns, Nadia Cannizzo, and Tina J Mello (Card Design Team B). Chistmas Star Wreath

Just one last post for the day ladies. This is a star wreath I brought after the new year to decorate for this coming christmas. I used some totally yummy and not to mention gorgeous Bo Bunny patterned papers that it took me about two months to get! Who'd had thought they'd be so popular and so hard to get! Anyways... it took me ages to get it all put together but I am so happy with how it turned out. OMG I am having such trouble posting today.... so what was going to be one post has been turned into two.... this is the card that Nicayla ended getting for her birthday. My gorgeous niece Trish started making an explosion box card and I just couldn't resist making one for Nicayla. She had told me she wanted a card that I earlier posted on here but she was more than delighted with her new card. I filled it with a photo of her from each year of her life and had two spaces left. So they both became tab holders - one with birthday wishes and one with a voucher for Nicayla to get her a new leotard for her birthday! So hope it inspires someone!

A Beautiful Day

OMG I didn't realise it has been so long since I updated my blog..... so sorry ladies. Partly due to my son who (got to love teens now don't you?!?!) managed to trash all our allocated gigs for the month in like a week! So we have been restricted to almost dial up for two weeks - GRRRRRRRRRR!! Back now and I can promise more regular updates.

I am so excited girls as I have just sent off my very first card submission created from my very first ever sketch for my new DESIGN TEAM gig. So stay tuned as I will be back in a few short days to link you in to their amazing blog. Then you can join me and all the other very talented (not to mention lovely) ladies in creating some wicked cards and layouts as well.

In the meantime a few little things I have been working on in the past few days (weeks!).

Good Morning my friends. So sorry it has been so long between posts again. Really struggling with real life getting in the way of things at present, between soccer training twice a week, gymnastics training twice a week, army cadets, soccer games, gym comps and bivouacs I seem to be run off my feet. But the kids love it which means tired Mum loves it too!

Last weekend over at Papercraft Addictions we had a wee cyber crop. As again we all seemed to be super busy we decided to keep things simple! So here is one of my challenge entries. My super cute and utterly gorgeous not to mention oh so adorable great nephew Aiden is the focal point of this layout.

Kept it pretty basic as I wanted to see how I went. Hope it still came out stylish enough. The purple card I jazzed up a little more. My middle ds is off to a class mates birthday party in 48 hours... guess which card he has asked to take? Yes you guessed it the purple one! So tomorrow I have to make up another card. Kaisercraft Magic Happens

Good Evening All

Sorry I haven't been in for a bit. Been busy with real life but wanted to take the chance on this slow evening to share some cards with you all. I snuck into the lss at the end of last week as I heard they had the latest Kaisercraft Releases. Well there was this one release that had caught my eye - Magic Happens. It is very reminiscent of Airy Fairy but I think much better. Well I was ONLY going to get a few pieces of patterned paper but ended up buying a small 6.5x6.5" pad as well so I could make some cards as well as do a couple of layouts! As I have made a few cards now I will share with you my favourite. This is a scraplift of one of the cards I found in the kaisercraft free magazine.

Sunday Evening

Well it has been a heartbreaking, gut wrenching week here in Queensland and whilst we are so blessed to be barely affected at all but the horrific floods all around us it is still hard to understand and even harder to comprehend the toll taken on so many of our fellow banana benders! The stories of unmentionable deaths, incredible rescues and of the everyday heroes abound in every form of media. It is humbling indeed but also an honour to be a Queenslander at the moment. We are a proud, strong race of people here in Australia. You knock us down and the very next day we stand side by side, tall and proud as we help each other out - it has been amazing to hear about and see all the volunteers turn out over the past few days to help everyday Aussies get their lives back on track. To donate money or a few old possessions seems to pale in comparison to what so many good people are able to do to help out.

Today we went up to Woodford to my SIL's house. She was very fortunate to have her home saved from the flood waters but she did suffer a huge loss as years of treasured memories and possessions washed away from under her two storey home last Tuesday. They were able to recover quite a few of the things that drifted or were swept away but some of course had to be thrown away and some will be saved. She had lots of damaged down to the house as well which will take time to repair but we are all so grateful that she escaped relatively unscathed.

To the people of Queensland still affected in any way but the floods our hearts go out to you and we keep you in our thoughts each day. To all our fellow Aussies in other states battling floods (in Victoria, New South Wales and Tassie too) we are thinking of you as well. Take care, stay safe and remember that no possession is worth losing your life over.

On a much lighter note I thought I would share a photo of the last layout I did going back to last week. I have one more to share but I can't do so until a friends DT lo has been uploaded as mine has loads of similarities as hers. Flood Devastation Jan 2011

OMG my friends I have been sitting here watching all evening the utter devastation that has unfolded in Queensland today. The poor residents of Toowoomba have had their lives changed forever when a huge wall of water swept through their town upturning cars, washing people and possessions away, flooding buildings & homes, destroying businesses and creating chaos everywhere! It is almost unimaginable the amount of damage done in such a short space of time. Then tonight we must also think of all the residents of Gympie to our north. They are hoping the Mary River will peak at 21m... hoping it doesn't go higher. At 21m all the main street of town will be lost - business will be up to their roof tops under water. So many people have given so selflessly over the past 24 hours to help as many businesses as possible get out as much stock and fixtures as they could before the flood waters took it all. My heart goes out to communities like Dalby, now under water yet again, Theodore just down the road from where we spent a year living in Moura.... a town completely lost. So so many other places too many to name still under water, start to clean up and rebuild, totally isolated with no way in or out of their town (perhaps for weeks to come), the places yet to flood still. Mother Nature has taken us to task, shown to us yet again the devastation and destruction she can prevail at any given time. As I sit in my comfy lounge chair, under my safe roof I can't help but feel so much despair for all those suffering. My hearts and thoughts go out to you all. To all my friends and family here and all over Queensland please, pretty please take care on the roads. Big hugs to you all xo Shirl

Well I have been very busy over the past few days making a start on my pages for my album - Bon Jovi! I can't wait til it is all done and I can sit and proudly flip through the pages remembering two of the best weeks of 2010. My spur of the moment trip to Perth to go and see my beloved boys with my bestie's hubby Kim. And then finally getting to meet my on screen friends Caz (aka Sis) and Julz plus getting to go and see Bon Jovi for a second time in as many weeks with the girls. Now the hard decision which layout to share with you all first..... I think I will go with "Always". Thanks so Julz & Caz (sis in particular) for sharing your photo's with me. Scrapbooking Again!

Well my friends I am going to try really hard to keep this blog more updated this year so I thought I would stop in and say HI! I have had a couple of good days where I have been able to spend some time at my craft desk so shortly I will share with you some of 2011's creations. I would like to thank my all time favourite musicians BON JOVI for helping me kick start the new year! So far I think I have done 4 or 5 single lo's either using my pics from their concerts and one lo of my gfs that went to their Brissy concert with me! Thanks Julz and Caz! So as soon as the weather lightens up a bit I will get these lo's photographed to share with you all.

In the meantime I hope you are all enjoying the school holidays.... how many more weeks people? Seriously with all this rain my poor kids are so ready to go back to school it isn't funny! They are close to sick of the sight of each other and missing their friends too and it certainly don't help being cooped up inside all day long!

Thank goodness Jordie and Nic are back to their sporting commitments from today so that will give us something to do til school goes back.

Hi Everyone

Well I am going to try and update my blog a little more often this year... that is my new year's resolution. Since moving to our current address and having to go wireless I just don't have the gig to do loads of uploading but I have to try and do a bit better than the meagre few posts I have made in the past six months. So to kick start of the 2011 I thought I would share with you an OTP project I just finished. It is the Kaisercraft Christmas Tree. I got the b&w inspiration from a tree I saw on a scrapbooking site (original scrapper unknown) and loved it so much I just had to give it a try so with a few added twists from ME - the purple bling and hand painted pink/purple glass beads. Here is a layout I have done for Trish's themed challenge over at Papercraft Addiction. The photo features my good friends, Ruth, Cath and Teresa as well as myself at a recent catch up. Some of us hadn't seen each other in nearly 20 years! WOW memories girls, let's hope it won't be nearly as long between catch ups next time!! The theme for May was distressing. So sorry that I haven't updated my blog in sooo sooo long. Since moving to our new house our we have had our net useage slashed and only have a whopping 6g a month now. So I haven't been uploading much at all. I have found a way around this so will be hopefully updating my blog alot more often from here on in. Yesterday whilst I was organising our new RAK & Bday Clubs for Scrap Chat n Challenges Nicayla decided she wanted to do some scrapbooking too. She choose a lo of mine to scraplift and then went about choosing her own pp's from her stash and her photo's and embellies too. She is becoming quite the little scrapper. Morning Everyone

This is the lo I came up with for my March Themed Challenge over at Scrap Chat n Challenges. My theme for the month is Water Babies.... It has been wet here, there and everywhere, tsunami warnings... all the news has been about water so the idea of water babies popped into my head.

Have had a great weekend scrapping and making some cards whilst doing the SCnC Summer Cyber Crop. Thanks girls for a wicked weekend. Congrats to Shaz for the speedy win on the bingo and a huge thanks to Michelle for organising the whole event.

Here is my second challenge piece for SCnC. This is another challenge I am setting - the THEMED challenge. As I got it in early Feb I thought it best to set something easy peasy so the theme for this month is Valentines Day... so create a lo based on the love theme. Here is the lo I made on the weekend as an example. The lined loveheart is where I will do some private journalling..... Sorry it has been so long girls. I am finding real life is overtaking my craftiness at the moment. I have been lucky enough to join the many of already devoted copic users. Although I think my technique still needs a fair bit of work I am slowly getting the hang of it! This is a lo that I managed to get done today as well. It is basically a scraplift of a lo that my darling, spesh sistah, the ever talented Miss Caz completed just days ago for her DT gig with A2Z Scraplets.

This is my DD Nicayla after having her face painted on our Ekka Public Holiday last year. I just love this photo of her! Ain't she just gorgeous - yep proud Momma here! Thanks for the inspiration sis. And thanks for letting me scrap lift it too! Hugs xo S

Scrap, Chat 'n' Challenges - Colour Capers

Well I decided today I needed to get crafty and get my feet wet on the Scrap, Chat 'n' Challenges site. So to test the waters I thought I would do the lovely Susan's January Card Challenge. This month we were challenged to challenge ourselves by using a colour combination we wouldn't normally use on a card, keep it mainly 2d, no flowers or bows! So here is my take on the challenge:

Hi Everyone

Well I have had some exciting news.... the lovely Michelle from Scrap, Chat and Challenges has asked me to become a member of their Creative Team. I have been given my first challenge for the site to be posted on the 1st February! I am going to be doing a sketch challenge for Feb 10. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful new site. The ladies there are all soooooo lovely and the CT have already made me feel so welcomed not to mention inspired but all of their great creations.

So stay tuned ladies as I will no doubt be posting some new work real soon! Just need to find my missing mojo??? Any ideas girls? Have you seen it hiding somewhere? lols.

Cool Cat Digi Stamp/Card

Good Morning Friends!

Well here we are nearly at the end of school holidays and I can finally see the light at the end of the holiday tunnel!! All my kids are soooo over the holidays. Hot day today so stuck inside but we had a ripper weekend which included a family reunion that saw us take a trip to Kings Beach to the north of us and then a drive south to end the day with a bbq dinner at my nephew's new house! Sunday we had Nan & Pop over for dinner and spent nearly 3 hours outside in the morning mowing, snipper and pruning the gardens! We timed it beautifully as we got a huge thunderstorm around midnight last night with some semi decent rain so the cut lawn must have loved that. Just a quick share for today. Had to make up a quick card for a male bday today! OPPS!! late again! This image was a free digi download and I couldn't help but use it as he is just ONE COOL KAT!! Hope everyone is planning a great scrappy week and I can't wait to see what you are all up to! Happy scrapping and card making! Sorry I have been offline for so long from my blog. It has been a very busy, long and hard few weeks since our move and having to change ISP providers and loose heaps of gigs on our new plan has meant I haven't been doing much uploading at all.

But I am back now.... spent the day at my cleaned up craft desk and have made 5 cards so far. Will upload them as soon as I have a chance to resize them so that you can all have a look and give me some feedback.

I'm Finally Back........

Hey Everyone

Sorry I have been such a stranger here on my blog. Finally done moving house just some unpacking to be done and we will be at home again. Almost found my craft desk today and as I type I should be putting up my shelves for my scrapbooking albums but having gone a whole week without the internet I am relaxing here for a while instead. I have so missed you all. Feeling all inspired to make cards and scrap since seeing some of my talented friends works of art so hoping to have something new up here sooner rather than later. I have a kit with assorted xmas goodies from a class that I couldn't attend to make up and share and then some cards too. But will keep this short and sweet and be back some to update you some more. Moving House

So sorry I haven't post in so long. So bad on my part but I have been totally overtaken by real life. We are in the middle of my DH starting a new job, house hunting and moving house. So as soon as everything settles down and I have unpacked my craft room again I will get pack into posting more regularly. Thanks so much to everyone for still checking in and I will try and keep everyone updated through FB ... miss you guys and seeing all your stunning work. Things should return to normal in the next two weeks.

Scrappies Cyber Crop 5

Hello Girls

Had a lovely evening last night with the girls from Scrappies at our 5th Cyber Crop night. I only managed to get two (2) layouts completed before the midnight deadline but I thought I would share them with you!

The DLO was a sketch challenge using a Becky Higgins sketch chosen by Julz and the other single lo was theme based. A lo using a photo of us pre baby days. In this photo is my bestie (& ex SIL) Margie when we were much thiner... you could say half the women we are today!! LMBO!! As I was having a mojo less night this lo was a scraplift from Kaiser DT member Christine Rumley.

School Hols

Hey Everyone

Just thought I would pop in and let you all know I am still alive. Been a semi busy little week for the kids first week of school hols. After a busy weekend we had a lovely quiet day at home on Monday, Tuesday we went for a walk to the DVD store to hire some movies for the week, Wed was a really yucky day so we stayed indoors with the ac on and the kids watched some of their movies, Thursday we all got up early and the kids helped me with the hw by tidying their rooms and doing odd jobs, we almost got to lunchtime having finished all our chores to be greeted by a fast looming dust storm. We were one of the lucky ones but as we not only saw it coming but had time to get the clothes in and shut all the doors and windows and put the ac on. Ken said visibility on the roads was down to well under 200m when he came home at 1pm, later in the afternoon we took J & N to a kids fit class at the local gym whilst Ken & I did a work out! WOO HOO..... Thursday morning we spent cleaning up the huge rear verandah we had only just cleaned the day before so we could spend the afternoon/evening out there with our family who came over for a BBQ. Today we had another quieter day, followed by a kids fit class again for J & N and a work out at the gym for Ken & Shirl. Tonight for the first time in many weeks I made it out to Discover to their crop night to do some card making. Short night tonight as poor Robyn hasn't been well (GET BETTER real soon Robyn!!) but I did manage to get around 6 chrissy cards made. Will upload later. Ken has to work tomorrow morning and Sunday morning but depending on the second looming dust storm which they say may hit tomorrow we might head out to the beach tomorrow afternoon and make the most of the lovely weather! I will end this with a pic or two from the dust storm on Thursday and by wishing all my friends a lovely weekend! HAPPY SCRAPPIN!! Hugs xo S

Canon EOS 50D

Discover Blog Sketch Challenge

Hey Everyone

Well hope for all my Queensland friends out there you are enjoying the first official day of the Sept School holidays. It is a bit warm here and after such a big weekend we are chilling and having a quiet day at home! Plan on getting some movies out tomorrow for Cheap Tuesday as they say WED will be HOT HOT HOT so we are going to sit indoors and have ourselves a bit of a movie marathon! Wed and Fri Ken and I are off to the gym after he finishes work and Jordie & Nic are taking a kids fitness class whilst we workout! Just wanted to pop by and post a layout that I did ages ago and forgot to post once it went up on the Discover blogspot! This lo I did for the Sept Blog Sketch Challenge! I am not overly happy with it as it is a bit busy but... will share it anyways. I haven't done much scrapping lately but hope to get over to Discover this week for their crop night! Dream LO Freestyle Scrappies DT Submission

This is my second lo for Scrappies for the month of September. This is a freestyle submission on Ken and me from a fun photo that Douglas snapped at that same park in Dalby. Thanks for pushing me Caz, Julz and Jacqueline to get out in front of the camera for a change! Thanks for stopping by girls. We are off into the city tomorrow night but as I still don't have my new camera probably won't have too many pics if any at all. They have a big festival happening in Brisbane this month and tomorrow night starts it all off with RIVERFIRE, a huge fireworks display over the river, city, Kangaroo Point and Storey Bridge. They also have F11's buzz the skies to open up the start of the fireworks which last 25 mins and again at the end they do their amazing dump and burn to light up the night skies. This is the last year for the dump & burn so I am a bit disappointed to know I won't get any pics but.... such is life! Have a great weekend everyone! Happy Scrappin. xo S

Scrappies DT LO'S September

Well what a busy week it has been... don't know where the time goes somedays. On Tuesday for the first time ever in my life I managed to get locked out of the house. One of the cherubs pulled the door closed just as I realised I had left the keys on the entertainment unit on my way out. So I got an extra long walk that day as I had to walk on down to the real estate to pick up the spare set of keys! So all in all I walked 9 klms! Felt pretty good but. During the week I did managed to get my two lo's done for Scrappies Scrapbooking Supplies for September. We also did an OTP Challenge this month. We were given a Kaiser LOVE album to decorate. As our theme was FATHER'S I did mine as a gift for Ken on FD which was last Sunday. I will upload some pics of it later on. But in the mean time here is my lo based on the Fathers theme. This is Douglas with Ken at the park in Dalby when we had our big day out in Chincilla last month.

Two More Layouts

This above layout is one of my faves of the night. My gorgeous SIL Margie with Douglas, Jordan and Nicayla when Margie came up to visit us in Moura for Ken's 40th bday back in Feb this year. You just have to love the beautiful soft colours in this kaiser range. I was really happy with how this lo turned out.

This one is just a simple lo from when Nicayla was at Australia Zoo back in Sept 08. I just had some scraps of pink pp that I wanted to use and well black goes so nice with pink! Thanks for stopping by ladies. Hope everyone is having loads of fun getting crafty and HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!! hugs xo S

I really have been slack with my blogging again. I managed to get a total of four layouts done last Friday night at scrapbooking and I was going to come back much earlier to post some more but never got here! I haven't made any cards in ages so maybe next crop night I might make some cards for something different. Has been an interesting week but no exciting new news to share - OH!!
